He had personal connections to COVID; the disease impacted his family directly, which makes the research findings even more meaningful. If the medication makes it through rounds of clinical trials and testing, the drug essentially would act as a preventive measure to avoid COVID entirely. Sahil is focused on college applications. He wants to be a physician. I see people who are cognizant of the problems our society has, cognizant of the issues we face today, and are actively thinking of ways to try and combat them.

Meet the Team. As a senior at Lambert High school, I am a youth changemaker that aims to catalyze change within my community. I founded HYPE with the goal of promoting sustainable solutions to prominent issues in the community. Through visionary leadership and pursuit of advocacy, I strive to empower youth across the world to unify into a well-equipped coalition armed with the tools to facilitate tangible change. Prior to joining this non-profit, I, along with of my peers, including Sahil Sood, worked together on a Communities Against COVID which is a non-profit dedicated to help healthcare workers during the pandemic. Later on, when HYPE reached out to me, I recognized the necessity of a program like this to help those less fortunate, and joined immediately. I have seen personally seen the effects of poverty. Being deprived of basic human needs like education, food, and a balanced mind is just as harmful. I have been spending my time out of school leading middle school girls to a faith of their own and improving their middle school experience. I have also been working closely with Lead for Change teaming up with Toys for Tots to have an impact on youth. When offered the opportunity to join the HYPE team I knew it was the thing for me, as it entails all the things I am passionate about improving in our community. In my free time, I enjoy watching Georgia football and spending time with friends and my dog. Hi Everyone! Starting earlier this year, my team and I have been involved in the program Lead4Change, where we are working on a community service project with the goal of donating items to those in our community who have expressed a need for support. When I was notified about the opportunity to join this upcoming project, I promptly signed up in order to dedicate my time to this worthy cause.

Hunter Dzerve , Staff Writer October 31, Sahil Sood is well-known for his academic accolades, not only at Lambert High School, but also internationally. Sahil has an abundance of achievements that students and adults alike admire, but his accomplishments are not a direct result of merely his intelligence. At a young age, Sahil stood out academically, always trying new things and expressing his passions. He recognized science, technology, engineering and mathematics STEM subjects as something that greatly interested him and decided to pursue extracurriculars that would further his knowledge in those areas. Gaining more experience, Sahil realized the importance of getting ahead and taking full advantage of all the opportunities that were presented to him. He worked hard to enter freshman year ahead of his peers in both academics and extracurriculars. His classes were online and extracurriculars were at a standstill. However, Sahil made a plan to thrive in this new found time, spending each day learning more about his passions.

He started applying to science conferences at top universities, where he hoped his hard work would be recognized.
