The Channel 5 series sees the year-old comedian stranded and living alone for ten days on a desert island in the depths of Madagascar. Before heading off to the tropical location viewers saw Ruby meeting pal Joanna Lumley , 76, who offered advice after she made a similar show in - famously turning her bra into shoes to cope with the island's treacherous terrain. After reaching her new home Ruby left viewers 'in awe' as she wielded a machete to cut down trees to build herself a shelter. The year-old comedian and actress will become an authentic castaway on a remote island off the coast of Madagascar as part of a new two-part series, Ruby Wax Castaway. On Wednesday, Channel 5 announced that the new series will air later this year, in addition to a host of other new shows for featuring the likes of Ross Kemp, Tim Peake and Jay Blades.
