Ret paladin rework
Noooo its not negative Its insulting We got a decent rework but got mastery nerfed to the ground so we now have no bis stat. Ret paladin rework much AOE can you do at all in std single target raid spec
My name is Masky. I am a long-time retribution paladin main who has raided with the spec on and off at a decent level since Legion. Throughout the years I have done my utmost to minmax this spec to bring out the strengths of it. This has been a greatly enjoyable playstyle for me, and as I understand it many others, as it has been extremely rewarding to execute properly. Like many others I was very excited for the retribution paladin rework as the spec had been suffering from some glaring faults for a very long time.

Great, now people will be forced to run 2 paladins instead of one. Such good game design, wow. The last thing anyone needed was being forced to now bring 2 of one class, on top of already being forced to bring multiple classes for specific raid buffs. What's next? Elemental Shaman getting a totem for casters so you are forced to run two shamans instead of one Enhancer? Where does it end? Two Warlocks meaning two gateway uses? It's only fair since apparently Paladins get to have not one, but two vital raid buffs. A Melee class with the paper survivability of its range counter parts is rough. No one on the internet is ever happy about anything, ever. News at eleven. Coming from a pvp perspective, most classes have movement abilities that are unaffected by roots and snares.
Again, ret paladin rework, the gameplay is great, and the defensive and utility options you have are all widely applicable and make Ret valuable in a ton of different types of content even when its damage is just average. Noooo its not negative For you good design is on rotation and rotation only?
By Staff , January 28, in News. Blizzard have announced some big changes coming to Retribution Plaladins with the next content patch, with a rebuild of the talent tree from the ground up! Check out all the details below:. Rebuilding the Retribution talent tree from the ground up means significant changes ahead. However, the talent tree itself will not be available in our first PTR build s , so initial testing on the PTR will be missing important context.
By Staff , February 15, in News. Blizzard have gone in-depth on today's changes to Retribution on the PTR, detailing all the improvements, from total number of buttons to stacking modifiers, utility and more. The lost damage from this will be rerouted to core abilities, cooldowns and new talents as part of our future tuning. Survivability The Paladin class tree has seen a substantial update alongside our Retribution rework, through this and updates to the Retribution tree itself there should now be a number of options to help Paladins survive more while participating in various types of content. Utility As previously detailed, Retribution Aura has been redesigned to benefit your group or raid. In addition to this and as a result of the updates to the Paladin class tree, it should now be easier to acquire talents that will provide a benefit to your group or raid. We look forward to hearing your feedback on the individual talents 34 , layout, pathing and how fun you feel the builds you can create are. Or something new? Also keenly interested if the "not on gcd" extends to prot and holy paladins.

Button bloat : Retribution Paladins currently have a fairly large number of abilities, and some of these feel unnecessary and inefficient. Stacking modifiers : There are currently several talents and abilities that provide stacking bonuses, which can make for a confusing and messy playstyle that deals extreme burst damage, but in return leaves your core abilities feeling unsatisfying and under-tuned. We intend to significantly change this. We want your core abilities to feel good and powerful when used in all situations. Survivability : Retribution Paladins currently have one of the highest death rates across all forms of content.

Ilyon-silvermoon June 10, , pm Which is the coolest thing they added from the reset. I didnt mind the old version but i kinda like this one better. Today Mages and Shamans of all specs have a pushback but warriors and rogues have counters even for those and can be used even if they are pushed over a cliff at LM at flag in EotS. Bodhi-silvermoon June 10, , pm 7. Furthermore, the issues you raised are very true - when i stopped trying AoE spec in raids my damage went to the roof. According to the official website, an eight-hour maintenance is scheduled for next week, typical for patch deployments, contrasting with the usual one-hour maintenance when there are no patches. Ilyon-silvermoon June 10, , pm 4. I have little opinion on VoJ, it doesnt bother me much as HoPo generation is at a decent place atm and i think keyword it synergises better with blessing of dawns second stack in a rotation. If Retribution is nerfed in damage output again while we already can't walk I may have to jump on the "hand out full loss of character control until you win the match" bandwagon. Personally, I enjoy playing around timed Holy Power gains, so either Crusading Strikes or builds that hardcast Crusader Strike are both styles that I think are fun to play with. However, past the point of learning the basics, there's very little to you can do to maximize damage. Have mained ret since Mists and I am pretty excited about most of this. This leaves our capstones feeling entirely like a choice between Execution Sentence and Final Reckoning which is a very boring choice as Execution Sentence is practically useless in AOE scenarios. WoA resets was really bad for old Ret.
Great write up.
Two Warlocks meaning two gateway uses? Have mained ret since Mists and I am pretty excited about most of this. Please enable JavaScript in your browser. First of all, thank you for a very detailed and interesting article about ret. Wake of ashes reset removal was bad. The fact that some people think this is a good trade baffles me. On these types of raid encounters, the talents that you can realistically take are Blessed Champion and Inquisitor's Ire or Tempest of the Lightbringer , instead of Divine Wrath and Vanguard of Justice or Penitence. Morninglory 0. For almost every other class a DR of that power would be minutes. The stats that Ret ends up using are defined more by being the "least bad option" than actually having significant positive interactions with any part of our damage toolkit.
It seems excellent phrase to me is
In my opinion you commit an error. Write to me in PM, we will communicate.
