There are five main beaches in and around this port town; you can choose from wide sandy beaches with excellent amenities and beautiful isolated coves with dramatic cliffs and wild waves. Two of the five beaches we discuss can be found in the town itself. Both are sandy, with excellent access to amenities and are popular with swimmers. Playa de Avalos can be found a few kilometres north of San Sebastian. This pebbled beach can be accessed by car and lies in a beautiful peaceful bay. Playa de la Guancha and Playa del Cabrito sit to the south of San Sebastian and can only be accessed via boat or hiking trail. However, they are both spectacularly beautiful and well worth the effort.

Big porsions. Steak from red tuna is absolutely wonderful. Very much a place to try out Great variety and quality of seafood - the best restaurant in San Sebastian de la Gomera. Great food,fresh ingredients,unusual combinations,really different along with some traditional meals. Good snacks available but service on outside table a bit slow. Really nice staff and good food. Cheese restaurant. After reporting it to reception they promised to check but when we returned it still looked the same, except someone seems to have swept the floor at least.
