Casa Carlos used to be known as El Mirador, but it underwent a change of ownership and a refurbishment during the pandemic, so we decided to go and check it out. The location is fabulous — at one side of Marina Rubicon, with views out to sea from the terrace, which is cleverly built to allow sections to be used to provide shade or protection from the wind. The restaurant feels upmarket, with really nicely laid tables and a simply huge wine list. We were served by several different staff during our stay, always with the best attention. There were also several specials on the evening we were there, which the team explained to us.

Tapas incorporating modern Spanish dishes are also available. A date-worthy spot indeed.

We've never had a better complete meal. From the hot bread with homemade butter to the fillet and confit duck with exceptional wine at a reasonable price. We were so impressed we've booked for our last evening! This restaurant is beyond my expectations. A woman in the village recommended it because the meat would be incredible. Curious as we are we had to find out. The prices are a bit on the higher side but when the quality is on this level I would have paid much more like I do in the Netherlands for a steak of this quality The wine is incredibly good and also is the steak. Don't forget to take a dessert lavacake and a cappuccino which is really good.

We recently come to playa Blanca for our first holiday as a family with our 4 month old baby. We come to casa Carlos last Saturday afternoon and had a drink outside overlooking the beautiful view. We loved the location so asked if we could book a table for 6pm for me my partner and my baby. We come back at 5. The ramp for prams and wheelchairs is blocked off by bins, so we carried the pram up the stairs. Which makes access for those who need a ramp impossible. When we went into the restaurant with our pram and baby a very rude woman stopped us and said prams to be kept outside. The woman said there was no room for a pram even though the restaurant was empty and there was many spacious tables I could see which could fit out pram.

The latter was a pretty standard Gambas al Ajillo with the addition of tomato — nicely cooked, but we had hoped for something a little different, based on the menu name. Carlos and his staff have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who visit. An authentic Spanish tapas restaurant with a modern twist. A date-worthy spot indeed. The restaurant feels upmarket, with really nicely laid tables and a simply huge wine list. It came with fries. The starters were pretty big, and on reflection, we could easily have managed with one between us! Authentic Indian dessert options are also available. I chose a steak from the specials — it was a bone-in steak, but with the rib eye side of a T-bone, my favourite cut of steak. Each beautifully designed for relaxation and entertaining. For those who enjoy frequent holidays to Playa Blanca, this spot is sure to become a regular favourite.
I asked the owner Carmen to cater an event, the food was great, everything was timely and the service was top notch. Not to mention the serving portions were not conservative but hefty.

Chef Nicola, originally from Sardinia makes everything from scratch, including the handmade mozzarella, which we definitely recommend. Skip to content. It came with fries. The location is fabulous — at one side of Marina Rubicon, with views out to sea from the terrace, which is cleverly built to allow sections to be used to provide shade or protection from the wind. We simply rock up, eat our meal, pay the bill, and then write our review. Located just metres from Maria Rubicon, this is the perfect place to start your evening. It came with fries. Any questions?
