If you came to this page because you just purchased a Remington or someone gave you one and you wanted to see what can be improved or is a problem: sorry, this article is not super positive. I think the Savage Axis and many of the other budget-priced bolt action rifle are pretty damn good for the price. This rifle is not. There are no high res images, there is a video that shows some issues with the rifle that are hard to describe in text, and all the headings are going to be different. It is not offered anymore in most shops in Canada or the US. Good riddance! These days, use of plastic and mass-manufactured parts for hunting rifle magazines is expected.

But they want a scoped, fullbore rifle that can knock down a white tail or two… Then they go home and stash the gun somewhere and forget about it, only to start the same process next year. Remington obviously realised that there was a market here and set about addressing it! The end result was the Model ; probably the ugliest and most unlovely sporting rifle I have ever seen. However, it offered a good detachable magazine, solid action and came fitted with a workable x40 scopes, so you got it all in one cheap and apparently nasty package. Typically it was chambered in Win or …. Boy, did I feel stupid when I shot it. I kid you not, as a friend was with me who also knows a few things about accurate rifles and his initial comments matched mine.
