The Topre switch is a hybrid between a mechanical spring based switch, a rubber dome switch, and a capacitive sensor. Keypresses are sensed electrically without any physical circuit closure, which helps eliminate key bounce. When a key is pressed, it connects with the capacitor pads and changes the capacitance at that specific point, which the keyboard identifies and registers as the exact keystroke.

The 30G switches are way too light, feels really bad 3. Permanently attached wire instead of detachable 4. Then lubed them with Krytox G0. Now has the Topre experience, the keys feel slightly heavier in a good way and 30G springs feel nice. Stock wise, this is the worst of them all. I've bought this same version in black from another retailer. However, that was 55G and I felt it was too heavy and I returned it. When I saw this one here on sale, I purchased the variable hoping to get a better experience. Unfortunately, this keyboard in stock is really bad. The keys are really scratchy and you don't get the 'typing on clouds' feel you should get with Topre. Also, with variable switch, some of the keys on the outer edges of the alphabet are 30G while the mid keys are 45G. The 30G is way too light.
Reminds you of the quality of computation equipment like 30 years ago if you know what I mean. Value for money, realforce r2.
As someone who has been wanting to try this keyboard out for a while now, it pains me to say I have trouble recommending this keyboard to anyone. The keyboard itself feels outdated in a lot ways. Extremely high price point, a non-detachable power cable, and poor stabilizers make this keyboard not satisfying and very clunky to move around. Perhaps I built up the idea of Topre too much inside my head before purchasing, but the expectations of an amazing product did not get met by the real deal. The main selling point of this keyboard is the Topre switches, which actuate in a very unique electro-capacitive fashion where no contact is required for the key to get registered. While I found the Topre switches to be fun and novel to use, they feel similar to Cherry MX Silent switch, but make a high-pitched noise on the upstroke — not my cup of tea.
