The metabolic benefits associated with long-term physical activity are well appreciated and growing evidence suggests that it involves the gut microbiota. Here we re-evaluated the link between exercise-induced microbial changes and those associated with prediabetes and diabetes. We found that the relative abundances of substantial amounts of diabetes-associated metagenomic species associated negatively with physical fitness in a Chinese athlete students cohort. We additionally showed that those microbial changes correlated more with handgrip strength, a simple but valuable biomarker suggestive of the diabetes states, than maximum oxygen intake, one of the key surrogates for endurance training. Moreover, the causal relationships among exercise, risks for diabetes, and gut microbiota were explored based on mediation analysis.

The Outlook is Stable. The rating affirmation reflects NCI's adequate solvency buffer, strong growth in new business value and 'Most Favourable' company profile. Adequate Solvency Buffer: We expect NCI to retain an adequate surplus to support premium expansion and solvency stability. NCI has sustained an adequate capital buffer to underpin its new business expansion and investment volatility. NCI's risk-based capitalisation, as measured by Fitch's Prism Model, stayed in the 'Strong' category at end despite lower equity capital due to capital market volatility. However, with the adoption of the IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 new accounting standards in , we estimate the Prism score to have increased to a level well into the 'Strong' category in 1H23 when the contractual service margin is included as part of equity capital. Nonetheless, capital volatility continued to constrain NCI's ability to improve its operating profitability.

Fructose metabolism and metabolic disease. American Journal of Public Health. Age-standardized rates, ASR W , are per , population and age-adjusted to the world standard population. As a library, NLM provides access to scientific literature. As shown here, there is a substantial health and socioeconomic divide, particularly between rural and urban areas and among states, both within India and China. McMurdie, P. In , life expectancy was nine years longer in China than in India 74 versus 65 years Figure 1. Cancer is also a disease that is expected to account for a greater share of the total disease burden in the future in both China and India as lifestyle factors and 32 consumption patterns begin to mimic those seen in the developed world and aging of the population becomes an important issue in China[ 10 , 12 ]. Because of the massive size of their population and economy and their growing influence in global matters, the world is paying increasing attention to existing conditions and changes that are occurring in the socioeconomic, political, and public health domains in both China and India. For example, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Beijing had the highest income per capita, while Tibet, Gansu, Yunnan, and Guizhou had the lowest income per capita. A cardiovascular disease-linked gut microbial metabolite acts via adrenergic receptors. Zhao, S. We examined differences between China and India in key health and socioeconomic indicators, including life expectancy, infant and child mortality, non-communicable disease mortality from cancer, cardiovascular diseases CVD , and diabetes, Human Development Index, Gender Inequality Index, material living conditions, and health expenditure. Public Health Rep , — We used Poisson regression to model age- and country-specific incidence cases, deaths, and population estimates as a function of socioeconomic and human development factors [ 12 , 18 ]. Gopal K. While childhood diseases, maternal mortality, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cervical and oral cancers are major public health problems in India, high rates of stomach, liver, lung, and esophageal cancers, cardiovascular disease, and smoking are major health concerns in China.
