This is a good first book in the reverse harem, enemies to lovers, dark romance series. Cecilia is such a strong character and her resiliency was great to read. Despite her harsh upbringing and the ruthlessness that was ingrained into her at a young age, she was still able to care for and protect others. The chemistry between her and Ronan was explosive, and the chemistry between her and Mateo was sweet and smoldering. I could feel their dedication and loyalty to each other, even when it was strained. This book was well written and the author set a good pace.

My guess was sort of off but i was on the right track I like how She's not a coward but I don't want her to just take anything from the guy because she loves him still and is desperate. This series has quite a few dark themes so make sure you're checking those trigger warnings! Publication date. When she was just a child Cecilia her family had to leave Mexico in order to stay safe but she knew she'd be back one day to run her father's cartel. I can kind of see where this is going. She spends the next 12 years trying to outrun her uncle.

I also loved that even though these are some bad men, their motives and goals are actually something that I can get behind. One person found this helpful. When Celia shows up out of the blue on his doorstep after years of searching for her with no trace his heart and head play a vicious battle against him. Each relationship is very different from the next and I personally enjoy that about why choose romance. They'll get back together bcuz he'll be possessive and everything and I'm sure she'll find some way to take down her uncle or at least close to or towards the end of the book. Mateo is Ronan's friend from the military. They're ruthless, cruel men and though the strings of our past still bind us together, the scars of my betrayal may be too deep to look past. I really liked the way the broken characters fit together and I will definitely keep reading the series.
