I went for a wander around the Old Harbour area of Puerto del Carmen early one morning. I started out from Playa Chica, walking along the coastal path. The sea was flat and calm and it was already a lovely warm day, there were a few people fishing from the shore on the rocks there and a small fishing boat attracting seagulls. It was around 9am, the only sounds were the lap of the waves breaking and the odd clink of cutlery. Most of the bars and restaurants along here open at 10am for breakfast, if you are looking for an earlier option El Ancla and La Lonja were both open for business.
