I've been away from snowmobiles since the early 80s and this kind of sled is all new to me - it's nothing like the MF Ski Whiz I used ot have. First some information on the sled; Model and says Storm on the hood. The sled was based in the Sturgis SD area. We could not get it started but brought it home and put it in our heated garage. I did a compression test on it before I tried to start it here; L M R cold closed throttle I got it running and after it was warmed up; L M R hot closed throttle L M R hot open throttle I pulled the carbs and noticed the main jets were L M R with the jet needle c-clips in the lowest position. So I put the carbs back to those specs as we are at ft here.

Exactly 30 years ago this month, Hurricane Andrew rocked the southeast, Carl Lewis and Oscar De La Hoya were earning Olympic gold medals in Barcelona and the movie Unforgiven made its debut… But, arguably more importantly, a new issue Snow Goe r was hitting the shelves, features details on the snowmobiles! Below are the words, pulled from the August issue of Snow Goer , introducing the Polaris lineup. The past few years Polaris has made a habit of bringing us one all-new sled for a given model year, while at the same time making incremental changes to the entire line. The motor is entirely new, and Fuji-built. The motor itself is mounted a full two inches lower in the chassis than previous motors in the same chassis, effectively lowering the center of gravity by a significant proportion. While the chassis on the Storm is standard Polaris issue, the boys from Roseau have made sweeping refinements in all areas of its assemblies. First introduced on the pilot-build Indy XLT last season, the ITS is positioned two inches further forward than the Dial-Adjust rear, thus allowing a much quicker weight distribution. Polaris now has six inches of travel.

Mag cylinder must be jetted main jets larger due to crankcase volume differences. The XCR engine is way more snappy and fun to drive plus it does make more hp. Any particular weak links in the Storm engine or driveline? Deals Forum. Amazingly, it's three times my weight!!!! I see its time to start a seperate thread for the Storm over in General Polaris Discussion Aggressive Chasis Tripple pipes. But this Storm is a keeper. Please consider creating a new thread. Yes, I understand its much less techy developed as a XCR, yet am curious as to the ins and out of the late model Storms. Imagine one with a XCR engine. Ran strong and had a great "big end" long wide trails, lakes, field etc, it was fun. I love it.

I would check up on that again. There are ways to get past the Storm's low pony quotient.
