After choosing your gym type, you will have the option to select your starter from a list of three Pokemon. The Nature, Ability and stats of your starter will always be the same, though the characteristic and gender are random in most cases. Currently, none of the starters can be caught in the game. Some, like Aron and Misdreavus, have regional variants, with the starter being the only way to get the original version of a Pokemon. Caution: Once you select a type you cannot change it, even if you haven't selected a starter yet. To change your selected type you must restart the game. A different fighting style compared to most Electric Pokemon. A well-rounded Pokemon with no strategy it can't do at least decently.
