Invariably, all roads at least consider the Pittsburgh Pirates to have the best home, with many steadfast in their belief that PNC is the best. All of the charm felt in older ballparks met with modern amenities and a backdrop that is second to none, PNC Park makes the Pirates relevant in an era where their play on the field does not. Pirates owner Robert Nutting has not been popular in the Steel City with fans, but recent resurgence shows that there is hope for the franchise going forward. A wide variety of concession options are available throughout the park with special attention paid to local favorites. Seating options for dining on those ballpark favs is also available in the plaza. To go with all of the expected ballpark options, fans will want to take in the local delicacies like Mrs. The local beer scene is also solid at PNC.

The stadium also hosts high school sports games. The stadium opened on April 26, , and was built as a "mini version" of the Phillies' Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. The artificial turf surfaced stadium was used as a multipurpose facility. The upper-level seats of the stadium were orange and the lower-level seats were green. They also have bleacher seats at the stadium. Many amateur sports competitions were held there, as well as regional band competitions, ice skating, and car shows.
The walk to PNC Park is one of the best in all of sports — once you leave your vehicle, you can enjoy the picturesque walk over the Roberto Clemente Bridge. This iconic bridge has a plaque commemorating the former Pirates outfielder at its south end, giving you a cool historic spot to check out on your way to the park. The ballpark is iconic, in part, for the fantastic view that it provides of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline and the Allegheny River. Regardless of where your seats are located, make sure that you take some time to check out the view from behind home plate. Be sure to spend some time in the Riverwalk area beyond right field, the rotunda beyond left field and the upper decks to enjoy the outstanding view of the river and city.

Just sitting in the seating bowl of PNC Park is enough to make the claim sometimes…just on the strength of the spectacular view, of the Roberto Clemente Bridge, of downtown Pittsburgh, of the Allegheny River. But PNC has a few other things going for it too. Like its location, just off the Point section of Pittsburgh, enabling fans to park downtown and cross a bridge to the ballpark for another breathtaking view. Or being close enough to a rail station to enable fans to eschew their cars. Or being across a river from a ferry station that brings a few fans to the game by boat. Or being surrounded by popular eateries of every kind, and vendors hawking everything from T-shirts to peanuts.
