Pinball clubs are a great opportunity to play a variety of different machines as they are all very different! Each machine has been lent to the club by the owners and pinball enthusiasts around the country. I had such a great afternoon! The five hours just flew by. The only downside of the day was that the COVID restrictions meant that playing on machines was limited during more busy periods. Some of the most popular machines Medieval Madness, Creature from the Black Lagoon, the new Jurassic Park and Attack from Mars are all in a line, meaning that if one is in play it put several of the others out of action, sometimes for quite a while as there were no limits on how long each player could use a machine for. I did re-visit a few weeks later as I had such a good time, and invited along Jupiter and Dann. There is free parking around the business park, though this is limited. Pinball Republic London was founded in by a group of dedicated pinball enthusiasts who wanted a venue with a large collection of games in top condition where they could meet and could invite members of the public to come and experience pinball as it was meant to be. These founder members donated their own machines, refurbished the venue themselves, bought IT and repair equipment and a vending machine, paid the monthly rent, hired a pinball tech and started spreading the word about this great new pinball nirvana now opened in south London. Even now the club is entirely run by volunteers using their own machines and is a non-profit operation, with the entry fees going into repairing the games and making Pinball Republic London the best it can be. These different rooms are just full of noise, color and clinking noises! We ended up downloading an app, called Scorbit, which allows you to save and share your scores on various pinball machines. Pinball Republic is in the app, and you just need to navigate to the machine you are playing, and see if it has Scorbit integration.
