For the time being, Max has not announced a window release date for when they expect the Lanterns TV show to premiere on the streaming service. While the DC Universe audience waits for the series, Solo Authority shared new Lanterns artwork with their own suggestions for who should play Hal and John in the franchise. Lanterns, which will take some inspiration from True Detective in terms of tone, will focus on Hal and John as the Green Lanterns for Earth. According to Gunn, Lanterns will be a detective mystery that focuses on "an ancient horror," although it is unclear what threat is supposed to be in Lanterns. However, Gunn has also promised that whoever or whatever this ancient threat is, the story of Lanterns will be weaving between other DC Universe films and series. While a Lanterns creative team hasn't been announced yet, information will likely come soon. Even though it hasn't been announced if he will be back for Lanterns , Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner, who will appear in Gunn's Superman: Legacy , could potentially show up in the series, given his ties to the Green Lantern Corps.
