If some electrical connectors were not hooked back up you might get those codes. So your electrical comment seems spot on.

Thread Tools. I'm a new user of this forum and also new honda owner. I just boght a Honda Accord LX 2. The check engine light is on, and the scan shows Failure codes P and , which according to my research they are related to the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. At fisrt, i thoght the issue was because a bad TPS signal, so i replaced it calibrated as per recommendations, but the problem was not resolved. I then found something online regarding APPS, and although mii APPS is different to most of the ones i've seen for Accord, i replaced it to perform tests, but didn't fis the problem either. The sympthoms are: Idle rpm too high. Over rpm. When i shift from park position to Reverse o Drive position, transmision hits because the high revs and bad readings from sensors. When accelerate, rpm become unsteady. After calibrate the TPS, i can move a drive the car, but it doesn't accelerate over 30 mph. I'd appreciate your expert comments and recomendations.

This is one of the most frequent OBD2 trouble codes. Read the full article below to know what it means, how to fix it, and what other codes may show related to it. The pedal position sensor is a pressure-sensitive device located on the gas pedal. The following are some of the most common mistakes that a technician may make when diagnosing a P code:. A P code is a low to moderate priority code. It will not cause the engine to stall, but it can cause a variety of other problems such as reduced engine performance, surging, and rough idle. In conclusion, the P code is a diagnostic trouble code that refers to a problem with the throttle position sensor switch E.

The symptoms of this issue may include a lack of response from the accelerator pedal or a decrease in engine power. The repair difficulty is moderate, and the fix involves visually inspecting the wiring harness and connectors, checking for damaged components, and looking for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins. The repair time for this issue is estimated to be around 1. It is essential to interpret the fault code correctly to identify the root cause of the problem and fix it effectively. To fix the p automobile fault code, check the possible causes and inspect the related wiring harness and connectors for any damage or corrosion. The fault code P indicates a problem with the throttle or pedal position sensor. The estimated repair time for this issue is 1. This code is related to the throttle pedal and can cause a lack of response when pressing down on the pedal. When this fault code appears, it is important to take action immediately. Had a look under the bonnet, saw where the throttle cable went and disconnected the 6 pin connector, reconnected it, restart engine and VSA went off and accelerator pedal now gave revs, engine warning light still on, drove home. Jo BritRob said:. Log in. APP part1. I am aware it requires set up but hopefully this won't prove too difficult. Traction control doesn't work when your stuck. Clean connections. I was going to try the cheap fix, but I think the best thing is to replace with new as long as I set the replacement sensor up correctly!! IggysCRV Replies. I'm probably going to order it but thought I would join a club and see what you diy'ers think!! Hopefully, someone will chime in with some real help. Switched off engine left for 30 Seconds and then gained throttle response but engine malfunction light remained on. It does worry me that it could happen again at any time but on the other hand a free fix over a few hundred pounds, I'll go with that. Loads of codes were thrown up. What should I do?
We recommend Torque Pro. Failure to do this will result in a misdiagnosis, wasted time, and the unnecessary replacement of parts and components. Drive-by-wire throttle control systems typically use at least two position sensors to control the throttle opening.
When your not thinking to turn it off, I just kept spinning tires until suddenly VSA tripped, Emission trip, and power steering trip, and of course check engine light is on. I can't just keep guessing how to fix this thing. The check engine light is on, and the scan shows Failure codes P and , which according to my research they are related to the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. All was well until today when exactly the same fault occurred exiting a busy roundabout - car did not respond to accelerator and limped at about 5mph. Thanks for the reply. Shame now that I bought a new sensor, I just didn't fancy calibrating it. So once I was firmly in the grasp of the roadside ditch, I of course tried several times just driving it out. I commute with this car miles a day. View Public Profile. Send a private message to swaney.
In my opinion you are mistaken. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM, we will discuss.
