After going through some water my check engine light came on. I didn't pay any attention until I got out on the freeway and realized the tranny was stuck in 2nd gear. When I got home I ran the codes and it showed p which means I have a solenoid switch valve sticking. After doing some research I've realized this is inside of the valve body. Before ordering a valve body I'm just wanting to make sure it will fix it. I've already changed out the fluid and filter. If I clear the code out I can drive a few miles up the road with it acting perfect shifting all the way into overdrive.

It points primarily to transmission, valve body and solenoid issues, but I wouldn't go there yet

This code is typically associated with a faulty Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve or issues with the wiring harness and connectors. The cause could be an open or shorted circuit, poor electrical connection, or low transmission fluid. To fix the issue, visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors for any damage. Look out for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded pins on the connectors. The repair time for this issue is estimated to be around 1.

Hi to all, my first time here.
Some do the valve body and solenoid repair and still get a P DTC plus stuck in 2nd gear. AVS Forum. Last edited by ronjenx; at PM. It would still go into limp mode after a few minutes of driving. Members online nbas Neal. I dumped the pan, changed the filter, flushed the fluid, and cleared the code. Low voltage causing it. For one thing, the rough running you describe could be putting the Liberty into limp home mode. If the engine straightens out, you can see if that changes the transmission performance.
