P0688 chrysler

Ok, p0688 chrysler, so my intrepid is stumping me hard on this. It will crank and start perfectly fine. Shut it off, sit for a sec, crank and crank.

Although it is a generic code, the specific repair steps may vary depending on the year, make, model, and powertrain configuration of the vehicle. When a code P is stored, it indicates that the powertrain control module PCM has detected an abnormality in the relay that supplies it with voltage. In this case, the relay sensor circuit is open, which can be interpreted as disconnected. It is a contact type relay that is activated by a signal wire from the ignition switch. This type of relay typically has a five-wire design. One wire carries constant battery voltage, another wire is for ground, a third wire carries a signal from the ignition switch, a fourth wire supplies voltage to the PCM, and the fifth wire is the power relay sense circuit. The PCM uses the power relay sense circuit to monitor the voltage of the power relay.

Ran into an issue with my Rubicon TJ and I am completely stumped, really hoping to get this back up and running. Timeline - Jeep driving great, no running issues at all. Performed TSB 25 07 because the emissions system was not passing smog. This required cutting wires in the PDC and reconnecting them. Jeep drove perfect after this, for about miles, even passed smog in flying colors. Then I drove the jeep into the garage and parked it. I changed out the tail lights to LED and added interior led bulbs. Nothing major. Next day I go to start it, and it cranks on and on, but does not fire up. Jeep will not start and will just crank over and over and throwing P code regarding the ASD.

I went ahead and replaced the battery since it was super weak and its been driving great since.

P is a relatively rare OBD2 trouble code. This includes the Chrysler PT Cruiser. If your PT Cruiser is still running with this code, we strongly recommend against driving with it. If the PCM power relay fails, your vehicle will not run properly. They stand for engine control module and powertrain control module, respectfully. An open circuit is a circuit that has not been completed. With this code, most of the time, the engine will not start or run. Remember, the circuit that senses the voltage at the power relay is open. Or, the power relay is working just fine and the sense circuit has gone bad. You should still check the wiring harness to make sure that there is no damage to it.

A couple things I can think of. It was sporadic that it would do this. A11 which is pin 85 and the ground from the PCM wasn't touched by the tsb. My Charger shut off again on me yesterday at a stop light. Now, the plan is to replace the wiring harness. Then I had to put it back in the shop for the same issues. Just want to know so a can check all. That has other grounds as well. Thanks again for your time! However, I do not think any sensors except the crank sensor will deactivate the ASD but even if it could it would be done by the PCM opening the ground path to the relay as you know. I would like to clean mine but dont know what it looks like and how to clean it.

If this happens to your ride, we get your concern, but the key piece of advice is not to drive around too much with the code and figure out a solution quickly. Find out more about OBD2 codes research process. So, there could be issues regarding the engine due to poor power supply, and you may not even be able to start your car after some time.

I think this issue is upstream the asd relay. I live 1. Unfortunately that would indicate a PCM problem. Joined May 19, Still crank and no start. I've had my car for almost 6 years now and have over k miles on it. Check that the throttle body and IAT are good and clean. I like your team. Quote message in reply?
