Issue started at about 74K miles. Has anyone had this issue, and can you offer some advice? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. I believe some went down the same path as you. It turned out to be a short in the harness which also caused the driver in the PCM to go bad. Repaired the harness, replaced the PCM, all is good. Was it expensive? Electrical or emissions system failure can potentially cause a P DTC to appear in some situations. The causes of code P are listed below: Spark plug failure Spark plug wire failure The coil pack is not working.
Tested spark plugs, ignition coil, and fuel injector, no issues. I will put p0302 jeep on it that you have a worn rocker arm on 2 cylinder. I noticed that, then I got the same code.

The Jeep was on and I was on my rock rails tugging on the straps and the jeep was rocking and and I heard a chime went down to the interior and the check engine light came on.

P is a real drivability concern and should be dealt with right away. Repairing P should be considered a high priority. The most common fix for P is to replace the spark plugs, coil packs, or if equipped plug wires. But, where is the second cylinder?

I don't think they are, were they already changed before? They need to pressurize the cooloant system like 30birdy99 said. The coolant can be checked for a bad headgasket. Still need to figure this out. Pressurized system in these hemies are finiky. Get a shop to bore scope cyl 2. Any help is appreciated.
