The scan tool came up with 2 DTC codes. Just wondering if replacing the throttle position sensor TPS is a good idea or whether the computer through a false code. Thanks for the input. The actual problem was probably low voltage for whatever reason in that circuit, and the TPS is tied somehow to the Fuel sensor.

For as serious as this code can be, the repairs are often relatively inexpensive and easy to make, even for a home mechanic. While you may need to replace the sensor, it may also only be a problem with the wiring around it. The throttle position sensor TPS monitors the movement of your throttle. When the throttle opens, it generates a voltage. The more open the throttle, the higher the voltage should be. Each of these has a certain voltage range that it should report.

I don't see any evidence of wiring damage by rodent etc. I would first check the connection to the gas pedal. Parts or components should not be replaced with reference to only a P DTC. However, an oxygen sensor is easy to replace on many cars and is usually detailed in the owner's manual. Throttle position sensor problems. I understand the concept of the two voltages which work in opposite directions but I don't think the throttle is opening and closing when I move the pedal.
