Buildings in the upper chamber will overheat if not made from Gold Amalgam. It will also leak heat through the Manual Airlock and the Pneumatic Doors.

Oxygen not included electrolyzer setup

Electrolyzers are a great way to produce oxygen for dupes in Oxygen Not Included. It is no surprise that oxygen generation is one of the most difficult elements in Oxygen Not Included , and many players struggle walking the line between not enough and too much. While having too little oxygen will cause dupes to suffocate, too much can drain power, water, or algae. Oxygen Not Included is a game deeply rooted in real-world science. A player must balance elements like gas, heat, water, waste, and food, all while learning their fair share of physics and math. While experimentation is half the fun, this process can be daunting for some players, and a basic understanding of how an electrolyzer can function within a base, can provide the reprieve needed to focus on other elements of the game. In other words, a player should have one electrolyzer per eight dupes, and two gas pumps per electrolyzer, plus two gas filters to ensure the right gas is going to the right place. In Oxygen Not Included - as in reality - Oxygen is heavier than hydrogen, which means that the hydrogen produced will rise above the oxygen. For this reason, it makes sense to place the electrolyzer at the top of the main base, as any oxygen not immediately collected by the gas pumps will simply be pushed into the base itself. One gas pump should be placed above the electrolyzer and one below. The pipe filled with hydrogen should be run out and into a separate room to be cooled; then it should be run back into the room in radiant pipes to cool the machinery. It also helps to plant a few wheezeworts in the room, if the player has access to them.

The takeaway here is that if we can ensure one of the neighboring or diagonal tiles contains hydrogen while another contains oxygen, both gasses will displace into those tiles rather than being deleted. Unless again you want one that are able to auto separate the gasses.

The problem I find with it is that sometimes the liquid gets deleted for some reason. It seems that I have to implement separate infinite gas storage and continuously pump oxygen and hydrogen from the electrolyzer room into it, wasting power. This problem also confounded me for a while. Two things that seem to prevent it in my experience: place your oxygen on the top layer and hydrogen on the bottom. Also, place a solid tile above the top left square of the electrolyzer.

Like many of you my first couple colonies used a "Rodriguez" design, popularized by Francis John. The main reason is that there are many other guides out there on how to build a hydra, and I don't believe there's anything unique I could offer in that space. You are of course free to wire everything up any other way if this approach is too ugly for your taste. The wiki is the community. Since there are two tiles of the same liquid, they can be compressed and then relieved without deletion, allowing flooded vents to work. The 0. Build the system near or around! First of course is Kharnath for their Compendium of Amazing Designs. If the later was the case, then I could post my current setup once I have access to my game mind you it's only 1 electrolyzer but I dont see why it can't be tweaked for more than one. For that reason I list a few ideas below. I'm suspecting that there could be some relationship between the total molar masses element molar mass multiplied by the amount of the element of interacting tiles. These are situations where there is nowhere for the liquid to go.

Oxygen is allowed to naturally disperse into your base, and your base acts as an "infinite storage" for the oxygen. One side of the "v" will fill with hydrogen and the other with oxygen. So the main takeaway is that you can always use a full kg bottle from a pitcher pump to create each layer, regardless of what liquid you're using. For the third, fourth and fifth modules, it's unlikely we'll need to add two oxygen pumps with each one. Wheezeworts have been re-balanced long since; the example depicted above uses four wild Wheezeworts, based on an implementation showcased by Francis John on Youtube [3] , which in Hydrogen gas is theoretically enough cooling for the entire setup, Jumbo Batteries included, although cooling efficiency is limited somewhat by material choices, Tempshift Plate placements, and so on; see Wheezewort for details on their cooling capabilities. It also helps to plant a few wheezeworts in the room, if the player has access to them. Maybe one thing to mention in the setup to construct where the oxygen side is already in oxygen. So does it have to do with the type of liquid? I constructed it and primed it at the bottom of my base in CO2 and took me a while to figure out why it wasn't working seems obvious now I look back though! Like many of you my first couple colonies used a "Rodriguez" design, popularized by Francis John. Thank You! However, this machine will then leak heat from the Mechanized Airlocks and buildings will have to be constructed from Gold Amalgam to prevent overheating. When I get home tonight I will make something and post it here.
