We worked on the site from that time until late , spending nights and weekends learning and building as we went. By the end of we were spending more time working on Owlbear Rodeo than we were at our day jobs. After almost two years working on the project we had learnt a lot about what we wanted Owlbear Rodeo to be. With these two things in mind we decided to start working on a new version of Owlbear Rodeo, throwing out the old version and starting fresh. This new version would streamline common actions, be able to grow with the user and be a lot more reliable.

There are other popular and well-loved tools as well like Foundry but these two typically come up when someone talks about virtual tabletops. If you dig more powerhouse tools, it probably isn't for you. It's awesome. By copying and pasting pieces of maps, usually grabbed from Dysonlogos , I can show the players where the characters are without using a full virtual tabletop like Roll Many players and quite a few DMs prefer this style of play. Owlbear Rodeo 2.
Owlbear Rodeo does just that. Owlbear Rodeo requires no login or account from either you or your players. Owlbear uses some sort of cookie to keep track so if you come back it will likely remember what you already uploaded but only if you're coming in from the same machine. It's awesome. If you're used to a more full-featured VTT like Roll 20, you're likely to find features missing from Owlbear that you really want. Many have described it being the exact kind of VTT they want.
