Handheld mode is my preferred way to play with occasional dock use when I have company over, nyxi, a rare occurrence lately.

I tested charging via Joy-Con charging dock and connected to the switch in docked mode it fits just fineboth seemed to charge the controllers simultaneously, nyxi. Reasonable setup key mapping can make complex combos nyxi.

It works just as well in docked mode as it does in handheld mode but the controller is on the larger side and might be too big for those with smaller hands. So now that they said the black one had hall effect, and on the listing it said so, I decided to buy it as well. Overall, this is my favorite third party controller I've used, and honestly is better than the official pro controller on my opinion. We did run into one issue where the way we set it down accidentally clicked on of the shoulder buttons with short travel and caused the controller to die overnight. Images in this review. Controls are accurate enough for quick shots with the bow, etc. They are not quite paddles as found on certain Xbox and PlayStation controllers but perhaps this could easily be modded on. I remove the Joy-Pads and store them separately when putting my Switch into its travel case.
