Upper Market Gallery is a multidisciplinary fine art and design space founded by Olivia Robertson in , in collaboration with her mother, the sculptor Ann V Capitan. As a San Francisco native raised among artists, Olivia wanted to pay homage to and build upon the loving, inclusive artist community her mother introduced her to growing up. By providing a more flexible platform for engaging a changing population with emerging artists and designers, co-directors Olivia and Nora Boyd hope to offer artists and art lovers the opportunity to share, grow, and collect in meaningful ways. We also collaborate directly with artists to produce editioned prints or objects that are exclusively available through the gallery. UMG aims to break down the barriers of the art world by being community- and artist-focused, hosting virtual and physical events from studio visits to dinners to performances, and more, bringing together musicians, designers, writers, chefs, and teachers and students of all kinds in the city by the Bay.
