Having said that, coupled with your fault code, it looks like the likely fault. When you manage to get the vehicle going and drive off, does the rev counter act normally? I would certainly replace the battery, ona freezing morning, its only going to let you down! Hi again all, thanks for replys. Have now had brand new battery and still no change. As the car has started after the second or third time the revs fluctuate but as the car starts to warm the revs balance out and all is normal. As soon as the temperature gauge inside the car shows some sign of engine temp its fine. I did read somewhere on the internet whilst rying to resolve, that someone else had exactly the same problem and changed all i have, then changed chain and problem came back after just 50 miles. Dont know what to do. Is it worth changing the temp sensor as a previous poster suggested? Thanks all.
