After more than two decades of being on the air, NCIS fans are familiar with special agents coming and going from their unit at the Naval Criminal Investigative Services. But some viewers have high hopes for one actor to return to the long-running series. In a new photo uploaded on X formerly known as Twitter on November 6, fans of the CBS show were stunned when they saw Michael Weatherly who famously played Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo for 13 seasons post what looked to be a suit similar to the one he wore while starring on the hit procedural drama. Mosley, meanwhile, sends the team on an unsanctioned mission to Mexico to rescue her son from her criminal ex-husband at the end of the season; while successful in its goals, the mission results in the death of Mosley's trusted assistant, the wounding of most of the rest of team, and the OSP being put under the microscope during the beginning of season 10; Mosley later accepts full responsibility, resigns and goes into hiding with her son to escape a cartel allied with her ex whom she had killed during the mission. The series ends with Callen marrying long-time love Anna Kolcheck, and him and Sam taking a "side project" mission to find and rescue Hetty with a new team, which includes old teammates Nate and Nell. Agents Sam Hanna and G. Callen are called in to assist the Hawaii Five-0 task in finding a suspect, Dracul Comescu.

The NCIS franchise is expanding again - with a pair of very familiar faces from its past. Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are set to star in an untitled, Paris-set spinoff of the series, reprising their roles as, respectively, Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo. In the show's story, Tony left the service to raise his and Ziva's daughter after her supposed death. When she was discovered to be still alive years later de Pablo made several guest appearances in season 17 , she completed a final mission and was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. The new series will pick up from there.
