Musescore delete staff

I've just installed MuseScore 4 today, and I noticed that unlike MuseScore 3, musescore delete staff, the ability to remove a single stave from a group of staves Ex: 1 staff of a synthesizer when 2 musescore delete staff are the default in the instrument selection was removed from MuseScore 4. Is there still a way to do that, or was that feature just cut entirely? I don't think you can delete them. But you can make them invisible.

My score attached is based on the SATB choral template. At one place in the score bars 49 to 80 I have a flute duet using the Soprano and Alto staves. The Tenor and Bass staves are not used for 32 bars, then the vocal parts return using all four staves. Is it possible to delete the two blank T and B staves between bars 49 and 80 to save space? You can not delete part of a stave but you can hide it when it is empty. In reply to You can not delete part of a… by SteveBlower. Thanks Steve I have tried this method.

Video credits: comment. The problem The item is "generated" during layout, and thus its addition is not recorded in the undo stack. However, its removal is recorded in the undo stack. So when undoing the action that caused the removal, the removal is properly undone and the item is added back. But since the addition was not recorded in the undo stack, undoing the action that caused the addition causes the item to get lost and leaked, instead of properly removed. For the same reason, when redoing the action that caused the addition, the item is not added back, but instead a new item is generated. The fact that the item is not added back also causes that the item is not updated for changed circumstances, like the redoing of the removal of staff 2. Then, when redoing the action that caused the initial removal, we try to remove the item again because the removal was recorded , but now there are two problems:. So, both solutions are a significant amount of work, and will require a lot of carefulness to implement them. I hope someone has a better idea! You can change the appearance of a staff mid-score by adding a Staff type change element to a measure, and adjusting its properties in the Inspector. When you alter a Staff type change property in the Inspector, the new value takes precedence over the value shown in the global Staff properties dialog. Only those property values in "Staff Properties" that cannot be changed in the "Staff type change" dialog will be valid throughout the score. The properties that can be altered in the Staff type change dialog in the Inspector are:. Offset How far the changed staff shall be moved up or down: measured in spaces abbr.

I have started using MuseScore 4, and an issue that has been bugging me for a while. My first language isn't english, therefore my terminology might be wrong, but I will attempt to explain clearly. Concerning instruments that use two staffs, like the Piano which uses both a treble and bass clef, I have been trying to remove the staff that uses the bass clef, as it is not used. While I could easily remove that staff in MuseScore 3, in the instrument browser, I am unable to do it in MuseScore 4, as the option doesn't appear in the instrument selection menu.
