There's also a separate Multi-frame Noise Reduction option which combines several frames to average out noise. See for yourself how the four noise reduction settings work under daylight-balanced lighting. Click on any of the crops below to see the corresponding full-sized image. Sony says noise reduction is not applied to RAW files. Clearly, the Off setting is not really off, as is often the case. It's also interesting that the Off setting smears our red leaf cloth much more than the Low and Normal settings, though chroma and luminance noise is higher. The Low setting leaves a little more luminance noise than the Normal setting.

M ulti-frame noise reduction helps to reduce picture noise by building up exposure and allow larger ISO numbers to be selected than the normal maximum ISO sensitivity. When shooting with high ISO sensitivity, the product reduces noise that becomes more noticeable when the product sensitivity is high. A message may be displayed during noise reduction processing; you cannot shoot another image until the message disappears. In the A mode you have control of the lens aperture and can influence depth of field DOF. Just remember that the camera will choose a faster or slower shutter speed depending on your selected aperture. The S mode gives you the control to freeze or blur action depending on the shutter speed you select. ISO determines the sensitivity of the camera sensor to light. A higher ISO number increases the sensitivity; this means that less light is needed to produce a correct exposure. A lower ISO number decreases the sensitivity and requires more light to produce a correct exposure. This function is effective for shooting moving subjects. The product automatically shoots multiple images continuously, combines them, reduces the noise, and records them as one image. The image recorded is one combined image.
Sometimes people just don't get a long and that's fine. An example of when MFNR can be useful.

I have been doing a little reading up and taking an interest in capturing star photos, not pro deep sky stuff, but landscape included or decent moon photos. There is a lot of info out there on stacking referring to moon shot to gain clarity and detail. Since there is an option to shoot MFNR at iso but the camera will align the image.
This function is effective for shooting moving subjects. You can minimize subject blurring while also preventing camera shake. JavaScript is disabled. Please enable JavaScript and reload the page. STD Standard : The camera automatically sets the shutter speed based on the focal length of the lens. In the following situations, the shutter speed may not function as set: When the maximum shutter speed has changed based on the aperture or the [ Shutter Type] setting. When using the flash to shoot bright scenes with the [ Shutter Type] set to [Electronic Shut. When using the flash to shoot dark scenes with the [Flash Mode] set to [Fill-flash] or [Wireless]. The minimum shutter speed is limited to the speed automatically determined by the camera. Deleting a registered AF Area Del.

Besides the advanced customizable autofocus functions find the guide here , The Sony A77 II has some more hidden features and functions that you might want to familiarize yourself with. This modes uses a fixed fast aperture camera does not change the aperture during shooting and allows you to shoot images continuously at high speed. This way, you can switch from wide mode to the center your subject and follow technique during shooting. A very powerful feature. Make sure you set the mode dial front lower left dial to C Cont. Priority AE. The camera will lock on focus and exposure while shooting. AF drive speed to slow the camera takes a bit more care with AF, resulting in a larger number of in-focus shots. Setting the A77II to Bulb mode is also an often requested feature.

C Telling people they are argumentative - You are the ring leader pal Who really cares who gets more private messages asking for assistance. Also, your explanation of what the camera is doing with those stacked frames the fact that noise appears in different places on multiple images shot with the same ISO made me understand why there is logic in selecting a specific ISO value when using MFNR. In what circumstances would you select a specific ISO when using the MFNR feature and what factors would you use in setting that number , and in what circumstances would you not select a specific ISO but instead choose "high" or "standard" and what would be the factors in deciding between those two choices? Search about Seeing to learn more. I frankly find it pointless. I didn't change what I mean I only explained it Cruise Conversations. The light wasn't great in the room they'd given me so I turned off the flash and used MFNR and voila. It's not a low light shot, so is unlikely to benefit from techniques for low light. Just because not everyone, shares your view point, say, 'I think our discussions are becoming progressively belaboured', perhaps you have learned something about life, that not everyone will always share the same opinion. For serious use I might not want to risk it misbehaving, though, so I can understand why some users might see it as useless for them. I didnt have the time to spend shooting and only shot some full moon light shots of the camp and didnt swap lenses, besides I think less than full moon pics look better.
Sensitivity to light is expressed by the ISO number recommended exposure index. The larger the number, the higher the sensitivity. JavaScript is disabled.
The picture, well I couldn't see in the dark but the picture showed how much of a slob I was, it was impressievly bright and in-focus. Sure the moon moves, but MFNR takes what, 6 shots in under a second so the moon doesn't move that much. Continue to argue and bicker if you want but I consider the matter case closed. The image recorded is one combined image. He has in fact on several occasions flat out insulted not only my images but personality and character as well. Use it regularly on my Sony HX9V pocket camera, helps with the smaller sensor. Nothing wrong with any of the techniques, but it's not necessary to constantly use any of the 3 for all situations. Gary I fully realize this but it's an ongoing situation that boarders on badgering. FYI my entire point about the PM's is to say that some here find my input useful which is why I stay. I would hope a pro would not need them obviously, or they are not a pro. No one cares.
I will not begin to speak on this theme.
