It works really well to relieve chest congestion and sinus pressure. Mucinex DM is more suitable for dry, unproductive cough or to suppress productive cough at night to allow for restful sleep, since the cough-suppressing effects persist for five to six hours after ingestion. Talk with your doctor. However, there are side effects associated with the ingredients in this medication that you should know about.
