Everyone has a story of "the one that got away. For me, it's the Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project, mission to mars omega swatch. With all that being said, I did manage to get my hands on a MoonSwatch. The Mission to Mars is one of my favorite MoonSwatches. Only the Mission to the Moon and the Mission to Neptune which sells at an insane 5x premium would be above it on my list. Being a New Yorker, and having access to 3 Swatch stores in close proximity to my office and apartment, you might expect me to have gotten lucky and been able to walk out of the store with a shiny new MoonSwatch on my wrist. Well I tried.

But this watch is branded as an Omega, and I feel it's something different than an homage. I could have afforded the purchase, mission to mars omega swatch, but it was more than I had ever spent on a watch and way too much to spend on a business trip impulse. So I finally gave in.

The Omega X Swatch Speemaster MoonSwatch has been out for a few months and these timepieces are still as hard to find at Swatch Stores as they were at launch and still not available online. The Mission to Neptune, however, comes in a light blue bioceramic material case which is a proprietary mixture of plastic and ceramic , which is contrasted by the dark blue dial and bezel. The dark blue mixed with the white hands and indices gives the watch a unique, yet not overwhelming, look. Not to mention the market seems to agree. That is 4 to 5 times the premium price of many of the other MoonSwatch models and almost 8 times the retail price. From the black dial to the vintage colored indices and hands, the watch screams Moonwatch!

Omega and Swatch and took the watch world by storm in by releasing a collaboration. It came as a total surprise and quickly became one of the most globally talked about products. When I first saw the teaser images, leaks and then the release, I could not have been more excited! It is one of the coolest ideas I have seen in recent years.

The strap is lightweight and comfortable but feels and looks cheap. I really wanted to review a MoonSwatch and I realized the only way I could do so was by paying a premium for it. Company VAT. It was after they had gone out of production, but apparently, this dealer in Frankfurt couldn't find a buyer for it. I could have afforded the purchase, but it was more than I had ever spent on a watch and way too much to spend on a business trip impulse. Only the Mission to the Moon and the Mission to Neptune which sells at an insane 5x premium would be above it on my list. All Moonswatch missions include a Velcro strap in a complementary color. It is likely a version of the ETA G10 quartz chronograph with the date complication removed and no phantom crown position. Cart 0. Everyone has a story of "the one that got away. Those expecting a substantial feeling watch will not get it with the MoonSwatch. Its inspiration clearly came from the Alaska Project, and it contained all of the great traits that made the Alaska special: spacecraft hands, crisp white dial, and white velcro strap.

So close. With all that being said, I did manage to get my hands on a MoonSwatch. They offer something for everyone from the person who wants something subtle, resembling a standard Speedmaster or other earth tones, to a number of wild color options. The Alaska Project has a lot of reds and white including a huge red outer case that can be removed and similar triangular shaped subdial hands though they are black on the Alaska Project. It was because of this that I was especially excited about the Mission to Mars version of the Moonswatch when Swatch released the series last year. You likely heard about the hype surrounding it, and the fact that Swatch quickly retracted its promise to sell them online. You can c heck out Perpetual Straps at this link. But this watch is branded as an Omega, and I feel it's something different than an homage. The Mall of America Swatch stores also had a few Moonswatch straps available for purchase separately for those who want to freshen theirs up or try a different color. A steel speedy is quite comfortable and well-balanced, and being as light as a feather makes the Moonswatch even better to wear. Having the bright Mars on my wrist sure puts me in a better mood.
