Within the SMG4 series, she also served as the tritagonist of Season 9, appearing in nearly every episode of that season and serving as the main protagonist of the infamous Anime Arc , as well as the titular main protagonist of SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny at the start of Season She is a former Inkling and is currently a human. Originally from Inkopolis, Meggy is a highly competitive girl who was obsessed with winning the Splatfest, the top Inkling sports competition. Although she started out on poor terms with Mario when she escaped from a paint can she was trapped in, they quickly become good friends when he participates in the Splatfest with her. Meggy started out somewhat of a Mary Sue. Sure, she had her flaws, but the way she acted was the problem. Then she became one of the main characters and, damn, people only seem to care about Meggy nowadays. I remember the simpler times where we got characters who were not just redskins, but were still likable because of the many possibilities for jokes and memes. She just adds drama to the mix and it doesn't mix well. But the worst thing was the Anime Arc. I actually liked Desti until she became Meggy's friend and not such of a rival anymore. And then she dies. Now, Meggy's just a crybaby who feels regret for Desti's death and that's basicly it. Another good example would be the nightmare known as "There's something up with Meggy". A pointless episode based around a pointless character.
