I played MediEvil in and thought it medievil a below average game that I disliked. If you've never played it before you still should buy it just because it's an awesome game. From the manufacturer, medievil.
The game is set in the medieval Kingdom of Gallowmere and centres around the charlatan protagonist, Sir Daniel Fortesque, as he makes an attempt to stop antagonist Zarok's invasion of the kingdom whilst simultaneously redeeming himself. The game received mostly positive praise from critics upon release, with praise including its blend of Halloween themed visuals, but was criticised for its controls and cumbersome camera work. It was released in Europe and North America in , and in Japan in It was also re-released on the PlayStation Network in It was followed by a sequel, MediEvil 2 , in The game takes place across a variety of levels, many of which require certain objectives to be performed to progress. Sir Daniel Fortesque can use a variety of weapons, consisting of close range weapons such as swords and clubs to long range weapons such as crossbows.
A lot of credit, though, has to go to the incredible work developer Other Ocean has done in recreating it for this new, ground-up remake, which stays true to its roots — although to a fault in a lot of ways. MediEvil walks a fine line between reinventing itself and being the same game that people remember from the PS1, and too often places nostalgia over modernizing itself to be palatable for an audience in Watch the first 22 minutes below to get a sense for the story, look, and feel. Watch the Changing One's Perspective trailer below. Boss fights, in particular, badly needed reworking, but remain largely the same dreadfully boring or rage-inducing encounters — and some manage to be both simultaneously. One fight involves trying not to fall asleep while you wait for a couple of wolves to slowly attack you while you stand in place and chip away at their health bar. Another pits you against two demons while standing on a tiny platform, dodging a few fireballs and returning fire with projectiles, but one false move sends you flying off the platform. Fights like this manage to be uninteresting and very frustrating, especially when death comes so easily and leads to starting entire levels over. Verdict: The philosophy of remaking MediEvil in without modernizing the platforming, boss fights, and save points ends up feeling like a project half finished. This tribute to an often-forgotten game and its memorable underdog protagonist is gorgeous and nostalgia-inducing remake, but it was mostly that nostalgia that made it endearing enough for me to replay a whole level for the third time because I was killed by a bug or an unfair boss battle.

There's nothing interesting about it and it's purely there for achievement hunters. Like my title says this game the original playstation game was a HUGE part of my childhood, I loved it even my dad loved it remember we'd always take turns playing it and the other would watch just a lot of really great childhood memories I was astonished at how playable the pirate ship level has become in the new version, where it was basically unplayable in the original. They mention that it works as new and is in perfect condition. This tasks you with finding a new collectible in every level and then taking that to the spot hinted in its description. It had definitely stood the test of time. That said, I think a lot of the issues people are having could have been addressed with an "easy mode.
