Berlin-based Makerist would love to work with more American crafters.
Makerist does add a thank you page before the pattern, but hasn't really changed anything that I noticed on my patterns. In fact I have some of my pattern photos watermarked and some not. I understand your concerns. The sale certainly did generate some sales for me. But if I join in on them all, I might not sell my patterns at regular prices later? I did put all but one for sale last time.

So, during February, Makerist and My Fabrics are running a Valentines challenge over on Instagram and the idea is that you create a sketch or mood board of your dream Valentines Day outfit. My Fabrics are a fab online fabric seller with a really wide range of dressmaking and home wear fabrics, knitting supplies and haberdashery. Not being the best at drawing or sketching, I decided to create myself a mood board of inspiration for my dream outfit. Soon, as is the way with Pinterest, I was drawn down the rabbit hole of looking at pretty dress after pretty dress. There were loads of lovely outfits over there but my top three were definitely these. Wrap dresses appear to be everywhere at the moment again and I really love the floaty midi length style of these. I really love finding outfits online or on the high street and seeing how I can recreate them for myself with the sewing patterns I already own — such fun! I had a think about the patterns I own and those that I could potentially use to recreate something similar to any of these dresses. I love the look of the McCalls pattern because it really has that floaty, romantic boho vibe. Again with a couple of tweaks such as lengthening and making the sleeves puffy, I think it could be used as a base to recreate something like my middle Pinterest image above too. I also had a look at all of the lovely fabrics over on My Fabrics to see what they had to offer that might suit my theme of romantic, floral, vintage and feminine. I think this little selection below is my favourite but there were loads to choose from. I think the pale pink and sand colours would work really well with the light, romantic feel I want to create but the navy colours add a bit more depth and are possibly more wearable for me — decisions, decisions! Which is your favourite??
