Makamaka is located just a few metres from Barceloneta beach front. They shared the same passion for great food, great people and girls on roller skates. The trendy newcomer restaurant offers creative and affordable burgers, sandwiches, salads and a few other options. The interior is very boho chic with mix and matched chairs and tables adding a relaxed vibe. The restaurant offers an outdoor seating area brimming with fairy lights to give a cosy and intimate feel. Cozy place to hang out with friends on your way to the beach or while you are promenading in the evening. You will find lots of choices of beer, cava and sangria.

The boulevard is packed with classic tourist restaurants. No ambiance, horrible food, high prices. So although I like the beach, I never really paid attention to the places here…. But Joan Borbo is changing. But I discovered the trendy places are settling in Barceloneta and are slowly changing the vibe of this street. One of them is Makamaka burger. The amazing terrace has caught my eye since it opened. Hipster furniture, lounge music, pretty little lights and no nonsense fresh food; gourmet burgers! Truth be told, the cocktails are not so cheap; tourist prices. But the burgers are fairly priced and I can tell you; delicious! I fell for Maradona, a burger with chimichurri spices and buffalo mozzarella together on a tasty bun.

The Dude Dig in, man. I really liked it. Makamaka outshines the rest of burger joints in bcn.

Makamaka Beach Burger Cafe was born in Barceloneta in , but the friendship among its creators goes further back. First of all there was Andrea, a familiar face in the international cocktail scene. Then there was Steef, a seasoned architect and conceptual madman. The two started off as housemates in Amsterdam where they became fast friends. The duo teamed up with a crew of Dutch guys that share the same passion for good food, great people, and girls on rollerskates. And so a beach burger cafe was born! You've just created the best burger in the known universe.
