Vince MacGillivray, 76, of Arisaig, passed away peacefully in St. Vince was a talented craftsman and carpenter. His first build as a young boy was a car constructed with wood and held together with many nails. Years later his children enjoyed many hours of play with his first creation. From there he went on to become the well known carpenter, the community knew and admired. Over the years, he shared his passion for building and was instrumental in training many young men who have become the carpenters they are today. Not only was Vince a carpenter he was a man of the sea, and fished for many years off the waters of the Northumberland Strait. Vince was both a proud and active member of the Arisaig community and the Parish of St. Margaret of Scotland. Vince contributed to many community projects including the construction of the current Arisaig Community hall.
