For cheeks and lips, I went with soft pink tones — soft rose Casual Color in Red Obsessed, which I stippled on the apples of my cheeks with a skunk brush, and grapefruit pink Lustre Lipstick in See Sheer, topped with Cremesheen Glass in Meteoric. I have always been a buyer of cheap drug store cosmetics until I started coming to the MAC counter to get the pro longwear lipstick and for years that was the only thing I bought from them. One day, however, a certain shade of eyeshadow caught my eye and I bought it. Well, I took it home and started wearing it and I noticed from the first time that it didn't fade the way my other ones always do. Later when the summer time came and I was working in a hot room and sweating I noticed that the eyeshadow still looked like I just put it on at the end of the day. I gradually started replacing all my drugstore eyeshadows with these from MAC. One day I was swatching them all on the back of my hand and then I had to go off and do dishes I love MAC products and the color selection for the eyeshadows are so beautiful! But sadly I was disappointed with the eyeshadow formula. It's patchy, dry, and the color barely shows up and is so faint. To get these colors to work, I had to use a very generous layer of sticky eyeshadow primer. Using my regular silky eyeshadow primer did nothing with these shades and they didn't show up well.

But sadly I was disappointed with the eyeshadow formula, mac red eyeshadow. Red Alert is gorgeous, I think I am going to get it. I have worn red eyeshadow and it looked great.

I do a ton of very heavy drag-style makeup on a daily basis. My two criteria for a "holy grail" eyeshadow are this: easy blending and color payoff big time. I don't want sheer, I want quickly build able and easily blend able shadow. I picked this up on a whim because I had been eyeing it for a while. I will be getting a ton of shades.
