Reinforced joinery ensures structural integrity. Medium Density Fibreboard MDF is a widely used, engineered timber product made from wood fibres which are adhered together using heat and pressure. The result is an exceptionally strong, smooth panel which does not expand and contract when exposed to humidity as solid wood is prone to do. Consequently, MDF, when painted, makes a reliable, practical and attractive material from which to manufacture furniture or alternatively, an excellent core to support a handsome veneer finish. Weight bearing elements of this piece, namely the legs of the bed, are made from solid Rubber wood.
