The Lord of Undvik is a Skellige side quest in The Witcher 3 with suggested level 17, which is obtained after talking to Crache; it involves finding and helping his son, Hjalmar. Please note that this quest is quite long, so be sure to come prepared as this is no quick search-and-rescue mission. To get started talk to Crache to get the quest and get more information on where Hjalmar can be found. To accomplish the first optional objective, go to the New Port Inn and talk the people from Undvik, to find more about the giant, and the Jarl of Undvik. One will talk about how the Jarl died; the other talks about the many Sirens there. After talking to the survivors; sail to Undvik, or if you have the destination unlocked on your map , fast travel directly there.

As is prone to happen in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , Geralt finds himself amidst politics and in the position to aid monarchs. On Skellige, it is possible to pick up a secondary quest from Kaer Trolde from Crach an Craite, the Jarl of Skellige, which involves the player aiding his son, Hjalmar, in defeating an ice giant for glory and renown. Hjalmar an Craite seeks to prove himself as the right choice for the next Jarl of Skellige, which is the entire reason for his quest, though he may be out of his league. Enough that his father asks Geralt for help in making sure that Hjalmar returns alive and whole. It is in the player's interest to accept, despite the major effort, as there is quite a lot of XP to gain, as well as other rewards, from this giant hunt. When ready, hop onto a boat and sail to the easternmost island of the Skellige archipelago, for this will be the island of Undvik. If one has already been here, fast traveling is advised for convenience. After making landfall, follow the quest marker until a cutscene plays, showing an ice giant feeding flesh to some sirens as well as indicating someone is within the nearby ship. This will grant the player XP. After the giant leaves, enter the ship and speak to the man one finds inside. This person, Octo, is a bit mentally unstable and recounts the mythical, and false, goals of the ice giant. However, Octo will also have useful information, so be sure to exhaust his dialogue to gain a strong hint about where to find Hjalmar.
Skellige is so full of bugs. A new patch is coming this week. After this, leave the addled man lord of undvik his fate, as he doesn't really have anything worthwhile to give Geralt, and follow the new quest marker to the an Craite camp mentioned by Octo and use one's witcher senses to spot and follow some tracks, lord of undvik.
There are several different choices you are able to make, all of which distinctly influence how it ultimately plays out. In the case of 'The Lord of Undvik', that's meant clearing out a handful of pesky typos and repositioning the headers to make a nicer, neater, article. This is a multi-stage quest that will take you across Skellige looking for a man named Hjalmar who has not returned after going out to hunt an ice giant in order to prove he is worthy of becoming the king of Skellige.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that children only prove more troublesome as they mature. In Crach's case, any troubles his offspring had caused him only doubled after King Bran's death, when both his son and daughter joined the ranks of the claimants of Skellige's throne. Tradition demanded the next king be a great hero, and Hjalmar, Crach's son, felt he fit the bill perfectly. As anyone versed in fable knows, there is no more fitting way to prove oneself a hero than to kill a giant - and it so happened there was one such beast in desperate need of slaughtering on the nearby isle of Undvik. Thus Hjalmar had organized an expedition and set off to earn his glory. Unfortunately, there'd been no word of him since and the jarl had begun to worry. Like many before and after him, he took this worry to the witcher.
