Having fun, implementing innovative ideas in and outside the games and creating a positive platform that welcomes and respects everyone are our main goals while competing at the highest level. Currently we hold 5 teams and a small streamer network and organize our own tournaments and events. In a nutshell: esport is competitive gaming. Unicorns of Love is a German esports organization. They won their first event later in the year at Insomnia This team would not come further than th place, with first round losses at both events. Despite that, the team placed 2nd after beating Lyon Gaming and Team SoloMid , before losing against Cloud9 in the finals. With a victory, they went on to beat SK Gaming before losing against Fnatic. They placed 4th in playoffs after losing against Fnatic and H2K and lost out on Worlds after placing second in the regional finals. Unicorns of Love made various roster changes heading into Spring , signing Diamondprox , Fox and Steeelback.

The Unicorns have won their fifth straight split and head to worlds with a monster in the mid lane. Graphic by Adam Fitzsimmons Despite facing adversity in the LCL like never before, the Unicorns came up clutch each time and qualified for their third straight international tournament. But brought adversity that UoL had never faced. Perhaps the most well-known team from an emerging region, the Unicorns of Love came into the season with something to be proud of: They had just recently become one of the few emerging region teams to ever reach the Worlds group stage, at Worlds With four of their five starters coming back for the LCL spring split, they were the favorites to head back to international play. With Frappii at the helm, UoL got off to a strong start to the split. They swept both games in each of their first three weeks of play and went into Week 4 with a record that gave them sole possession of first place in the league standings. But from there, the road became a little bumpier. The Unicorns of Love, a team that was not used to defeat, began losing.

As the year progressed, they started to play in more prominent challenger events and do well, taking third place in the Summer Black Monster Cup. However, because only either of them could advance to the Summer Playoffs , the teams had to play a tiebreaker match, which UoL won to eventually take the last spot. With Gilius now subbing for Dan , the playoffs went particularly well, despite the Unicorns of Love losing to H2k-Gaming in the semifinal. The team went on to beat Ninjas in Pyjamas in the third-place match, securing themselves a spot at the Spring Promotion Tournament. At this point, Gilius was made a full member of the UoL roster. The Promotion Tournament was a huge success, with the team beating Millenium in their promotion matchup. This meant that they would be playing in the LCS the following season. They placed 2nd at the tournament, losing to Cloud9 in the finals.
