Introduced during the Edolas arc, Lisanna is a member of the Strauss family. In the manga, readers immediately see exactly what happened to Lisanna before she was whisked away to Edolas. But in the magazine Fairy Tail Plus , director Shinji Ishihara explains that he intentionally left what happened to her vague, in the hopes that she might one day come back to life in the manga. However, it's revealed later that she didn't actually die, but instead got sucked into Edolas via an Anima, after which she found herself at a different Fairy Tail guild.
