The only reason that this figure ended up on my radar is because about a month ago, Hideo Kojima himself retweeted a few pictures of this figure that a fan had posted. The pictures were impressive. After a little window shopping on eBay, Ismael was secured and heading my way from Hong Kong. I would consider this the base model. Next, there is a deluxe release of the Leather Jacket set which includes all of the Ishmael parts, but also includes a head and additional accessories to make Aehab Ahab. Ahab is the code name for Venom Snake, the main character of the game. This is also the set that I am reviewing for this piece.

OKAY folks, I got this figure yesterday and I took a quick series of pictures to give it a thorough review. The head for the figure came with the Deluxe Ismael and Aehab Kit as do the best of the accessories so check out that review as I will likely reference it here. The box artwork is really nice I think, the tiger camo pattern is really cool, and an illustration of the figure is on the front, similar to the Ismael figure. I had a bit of a faff keeping him stood up because the knees are so flexible. Like with the original set the body was set in foam which keeps the figure snug and safe. I really like these foam lined boxes, I much prefer them to the plastic vacuum packaging of hot toys. Bionic arm aside this body is the same as with the Ismael figure, with thicker leg attachments included. The spelling changes all the time. The neck and body are a solid piece, you get head articulation though. I heated it with a hair dryer and strained for a long time to eventually get it in place. It was a friggin workout. Like on the first body, the non-bionic arm is a pain in the rear to move. It squeaks the first few numerous times you move it and its incredibly stiff and difficult to manoeuvre.
