Pearson would also become the third official James Bond author of the adult-Bond series, writing in James Bond: The Authorised Biography of , a first-person biography of the fictional agent James Bond. Although the canonical nature of this book has been debated by Bond fans since it was published, it was officially authorised by Glidrose Publications, the official publisher of the James Bond chronicles. Glidrose reportedly considered commissioning Pearson to write a new series of Bond novels in the s, but nothing came of this.

It is a book that was well thought out and written excellently.

It details the life of the twins from their births, childhood, criminal careers, and eventual arrest. The book was adapted into the film Legend. He then flew to London and was taken to an Elizabethan mansion where he met the Twins over dinner. Pearson recalls asking Reggie about the bandage around his thumb to which Reggie said it was because of a gardening accident; the real cause was Reggie's murder of Jack McVitie a few weeks earlier. Pearson then says he had multiple sessions with the Twins the following months, asking them about their lives. The Twins had bought him a flat in Bethnal Green where they grew up.

All in all this was a good book about two very bad men but it is a book that should be passed over in favor of the other more recently updated version by the same author because that would give the closure that the reader deserves. The police, including Scotland Yard, were totally taken off guard by the rise of The Krays. Well, The Krays were born in East End and when they reached their teens they started boxing. In fact as they assembled their gang of criminals Ronnie insisted that everyone call him Colonel. His most famous partner was Lord Boothby and it was this famous liaison that gave the Krays an opportunity not seen since until the recent Jimmy Saville scandal. Reg followed him five years later, and both of their funerals drew crowds on a scale unknown for film stars, let alone for two departed murderers. Still it leaves us none the wiser when it comes to pitch the broader story of the period when all this was made possible in East End London in the late s until when the Kray twins were eventually put behind bars.
