Following the discovery of the chip implants in the clones and the execution of Order 66 , his role seemingly ended - until his true fate was revealed by Star Wars Adventures 7. Fans of Clone Wars likely remember Kix in his role as a medic, helping his brothers stay battle ready. The ship goes down on the planet Ponemah, left for many years - with Kix aboard, 'sleeping' in prolonged stasis. The ship - and the clone trooper - are found decades later by Sidon Ithano and his pirate crew, who Kix subsequently joins. A later comic appearance in Star Wars Adventures 7 reveals that Kix has updated his armor with some brighter colors and has become a fierce fighter as a result of the mental strain left by the Clone Wars and his losses. The hostage quickly informs his captor of why his plan is doomed to fail - Kix now referred to as "the Last Clone" has infiltrated their ship.

After witnessing his close comrade CT "Tup" unwillingly shoot down and kill Jedi Master Tiplar , Kix became suspicious and conducted his own investigation. The clone medic eventually discovered the Sith conspiracy against the Jedi Order ; every clone trooper had an inhibitor chip implanted in their brains , which would allow Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine to send out an order to execute the Jedi. However, the Confederacy of Independent Systems abducted Kix before he could act on his findings, and had him frozen in stasis. He remained in stasis for the next fifty years until a band of pirates led by Sidon Ithano discovered him. After a battle above the planet of Saleucami , he was forced to jettison from his ship in an escape pod , landing on the planet's surface.

The droids shot and killed the Ishi-Tib pirate, Pendewqellwhile the rest of the crew headed towards the escape pods while still carrying Kix. Kix believed that his fellow troopers' health came first before anything else, even his own life, so whenever he was present at a battle, he bravely rescued injured troopers from the battle field, and did whatever he could to save his brothers, as they fought. Two commando droids spotted the small group and took a pot shot, hitting Rex in the chest. Kix, Jesse , and Hardcase took Rex to a nearby farm for him to heal, while the troops returned to Kenobi. On the mission to Umbara, Kix served as a medic during the battle, first under the command of Jedi Anakin Skywalker, and then Pong Krell, after Anakin had to return to Coruscant. While going to the capital city of Umbaran, Kix noticed that the troopers looked tired and notified Rex of this. Rex informed Krell, but Krell told him that the clone troopers needed no rest and continued with his plan. Under Krell's command, many clones died. Kix tried his best to take care of the injured troopers and stated that Krell's plan would cause too many deaths. Rex told Kix that he could help the wounded later, with Kix replying that Rex sounded just like General Krell.

While Jesse and Hardcase destroyed the commando droids, Kix examined his injuries, discovering that Rex was still alive, but it was severe and he had been shot two inches from his heart. As they continued walking, Kix spotted several banshees picking at their fallen comrades. He also made a cameo, as his later self, in the short comic Star Wars Adventures Ashcan , also written by Walker. Rex theorized that the Separatists had learned his personal combat strategy, and, based on the tactics used by himself and the Separatists, secretly thought that CT "Echo," an ARC trooper thought to have been killed during the Battle of Lola Sayu , was still alive. Rex attempted to change the irrational Jedi's mind about court-martialing Jesse and Fives, but this only made things worse. After a few shots, it eventually made a direct hit on the gunship causing it to crash into the surface of the planet. Krell was taken to the same prison block that he had imprisoned Jesse and Fives in not too long before. Later in the evening, after moving away from the crash site, the group set up camp for the night. Instead of being in standard white, this armor is blue, with red stripes. They eventually caught up, and Krell attacked, causing even more casualties. As far as I can tell, this is a combat-related stress.

As they approached the base, the gunship was spotted by a group of B1 battle droids, who contacted a DSD1 dwarf spider droid , ordering it to shoot the ship down. Not only is that ridiculous, but the clones are extinct! On the left side of his head on his scalp, Kix had a tattoo that said "a good droid is a dead one" in Aurebesh as well as other tattoos depicting a design of lightning bolts. The st immediately moved to engage in battle; they were promptly sprayed down with enemy fire. I guess the st are back on Coruscant. Kix strongly disagreed with his sentiment, stating that they couldn't simply leave the men behind, to which Rex told him that it was more important to save himself in the given situation, and if they survived, he would be able to patch up the wounded later. While Kix remained with Hardcase on the speeders, Jesse and Cody returned to Kenobi's company, where he instructed them to contact the fleet to bring a shuttle to pick them up. Taking the volatile clone to the side, Rex noted that he had believed Tup had simply snapped, as he began spontaneously repeating that "good soldiers follow orders. Upon remembering his last orders—Kix must not escape, no matter the cost—B1-CC14 triggered the emergency activation systems with his last ebb of energy, which caused a contingent of super battle droids to be signaled to the intruders' location. They raced through the corridors of the ship with ease as they came up to the ship's vault. A clone that knows the location of forgotten Separatist treasures? Just as they planned to leave the desert world, Ithano suddenly appeared, alive and well. Krell obliged, and after the Umbaran forces were fought off, they set off for the airbase.
