I have only been subscribed to Kindle Unlimited for 5 months first 3 months were free with purchase of the Kindle , but the majority of ebooks that my partner reads on the kindle are freebies, so we chose to unsubscribe. We used the free 3 months then chose to subscribe for 2 months as there were a few books my partner was reading, then cancelled the sub after the 2 months and got the offer, but you could possibly activate the free 3 months, then just before the first payment 4th month , cancel and see if it offers it to you. I've been a member since august, had the 3 months free too. I canceled last week and was offered a free month. So I took the free month then cancelled again.
