Introduced as an antagonist in the " California King Bed " story arc, Daiya becomes a neutral character in subsequent arcs. Daiya is the outgoing youngest of Norisuke Higashikata IV 's four children. When Josuke Higashikata is introduced to the family, she develops a crush on him. Daiya is a Stand user and can take memories away with her California King Bed. Daiya is portrayed as an outwardly "cute" teenage girl. She has dark hair which was originally chin length but later shown to have grown down past her shoulders, with eyebrow-level bangs, and large, dark eyes. Her outfits consist of a variety of short dress-tops with a fuzzy texture.

Daiya is the outgoing youngest of Norisuke Higashikata IV 's four children. When Josuke Higashikata is introduced to the family, she develops a crush on him. Daiya is a pretty, petite teenage girl. She has black, chin-length hair with eyebrow-level bangs, and large, dark eyes. Her outfits usually feature headwear with faux bear ears. She also wears vertically-striped thigh highs. Daiya is the youngest member of Norisuke Higashikata IV 's progeny at 16 years of age. She personifies a certain kawaii , between the toy-like nature of her Stand's appearance and the game-playing it facilitates, her childlike possessiveness of and offense at Josuke Higashikata 's betrayal, and the playful manner of her speech. She is close to her father, who tends to spoil and is overprotective of her, and she returns this affection for her father. She is infatuated with Josuke. After engaging him with her Stand, she assumes a threatening possessiveness; however, upon her defeat she settles for a warm preference. Josuke finds Daiya as an easy source of information and guidance in the Higashikata household by relying on her need for him to like her, as if to atone for her prior actions.

Her outfits consist of a variety of short dress-tops with a fuzzy texture. Her first seen one has a puffy heart-shaped collar while the second is more dress shirt-like. Later in the manga she switches to a top with no sleeves or collar. With all of these she wears a segmented sash, vertically striped socks, and a hood, cap, or bonnet with faux bear ears.

A toy-like apparatus, California King Bed is composed of a head and five smaller connected units, loosely representing a torso and limbs; all bearing a smiley face. The head is composed of what looks like a U-shaped travel cushion, both ends topped by a simple daisy-like flower; bordering a sort of smiley, surrounded by four large petals, with a cheerful open-mouthed smile comparable to that featuring in Takashi Murakami W 's work Smile. California King Bed's ability allows for it to steal particular memories from a person under certain conditions. While fairly harmless and fitting for the playful Daiya, it becomes rather menacing on people like the amnesiac Josuke , as Daiya can effectively brainwash them. When California King Bed first activated, it seemed to create a large gash on Daiya's leg, Although when Josuke checked the gash was no longer there. It is unclear whether this was another aspect to California King Beds ability or not. California King Bed's ability manifests as a mock game, allowing Daiya to take away a random memory from someone anytime they "fuss over" her. The "fussing over" may range from being concerned about Daiya's well being to being wary of what she does as an enemy.
