A very unusual new Skyrim mod gives the Dragonborn the opportunity to leave behind a lifetime of adventuring in exchange for a simple desk job. With the game now ten years old, Skyrim fans still produce hilarious screenshots and videos alongside a wealth of other content. Skyrim is no stranger to unusual mods. Over the years, fans have given Tamriel's northern province many new features, some more useful than others. The game lends itself well to mods, which can either expand on the Dragonborn's adventures or radically alter them. And of course, with ten years' worth of fan endeavors to search through, there is a lot of extra content, some of it quite inventive. The addition of new quests, enemies, and player races are common sights, as are additional kinds of weapons alongside a variety of other mods. One recent Skyrim mod adds six new isles and ships to explore them with, for example. Now one fan has decided that perhaps what the Dragonborn really needs is to step away from adventuring altogether. This mod gives the Dragonborn the option of having a perfectly normal desk job, working regular hours for Olfina at the Drunken Hunstman Inn in Whiterun. Here, instead of risking life and limb to defeat dragons, players can instead play a simple mini-game that involves memorizing sequences of words. It is a far less dangerous occupation than what some other mods can offer; in the past, modders have also given players the option of becoming Skyrim 's Skooma-making answer to Walter White. Kp40az's mod places great emphasis on the mundane realism of a simple desk job. Players pick up a weekly salary, and can even ask for a raise.

The Dragonborn DLC sends the dragonborn to Solstheim where they will encounter a harsh environment graciously "gifted" to the Dunmer refugees from Red Mountain's eruption. Jobs of skyrim might not be as rich as its Oblivion predecessor, but the Dark Brotherhood faction questline is one of Skyrim's best.

The province of Skyrim is a cold and harsh place where only the strong and hardy usually thrive, and yet it does give the players many opportunities to prosper — beyond the obvious and unscrupulous methods involving popping open the console, of course. There is also the option to take down the Dark Brotherhood instead- if they attack and kill Astrid during the recruitment process.
