Jackson at the center of a maelstrom, leading to her ultimate destiny as an Avenger! This really is just ok. Its not the best Marvel movie, nor is it as terrible as everyone else makes it out to be. That aside, I do love the music and the very accurate depiction of the 90s. I really wish Stan Lee would have said something though. That would have been awesome. The visuals and the sound was amazing; the dial up certainly brought back memories. Things I did not like included the gender change of Mar Vell, as well as taking the original Captain Marvel and replacing it with Ms Marvel to be the original Captain Marvel, though I guess it would have been too complicated to do so. At least a nod to Ms Marvel would be nice instead of writing it off all together, like the way Cyclops referenced yellow spandex to Wolvering in Xmen. Overall, its ok. As a fun story, I prefer Thro Ragnarok.

Because of her stoicness, you cannot relate to her, find her endearing, or really understand who what is captain marvel worth watching is. Samuel L. Although the movie was supposed to be a journey for the viewers and CM, there really was not enough back story for us to understand how and why she's wielding all this power.

The latest Marvel movie — Captain Marvel — has just hit theaters today Mar. I saw it for myself, despite early reviews it's up to 82 percent on Rotten Tomatoes reading as negative. And for the most part, I enjoyed the movie, which is carried by a solid cast that includes one clever cat. But for those wondering about any reasons to avoid the film, I've put together the most-spoiler-free review I could, breaking down the seven reasons to see Captain Marvel , and three reasons to skip it. If you've seen her work in movies such as The Room , or her small role on the sitcom Community , you know that Brie Larson is a mighty talent. With great delivery and pose, she elevates a script that can sometimes fall a little flat. Whether it's her banter with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury or Jude Law's Yon-Rogg, or her frustration with her incomplete memory, Larson makes you care about her character, even when the rest of the movie doesn't.

Poor all around. Ben Mendelson: really impressive job. It may have brought a tear to my eye seeing him on the big screen again. I literally want to watch the movie again just to catch so many of the references. The film has a rocky start - a fear of lack of personality and a plot structure that throws you off at first. I don't know anything about the character so this is all new for me. I look forward to seeing other directors working with her character! Yakadeeeee Teen, 13 years old. Loved seeing Colsen in the big screen too. Literally the hottest actress ever.

If you look at every new Marvel superhero story as having to perform the one task of getting the audience to root for a performer playing a new hero, then Captain Marvel is a success. Since the MCU depends on getting the audience to root for the characters since those superheroes will be reused in other movies, not just sequels, getting that aspect right is paramount, and Brie Larson makes Captain Marvel her own.

A young Nick Fury is a delight. But, the fact remains, if you've invested in 20 MCU movies over the last 10 years or so, then why not invest in one more before watching, what will possibly be, the highest grossing movie of all time? Honestly, it was fun to watch. Damn hahaha. Her updated costume looks cooler than the previous one. I thought Captain Marvel was very well done. When she realizes she has all this power and she's ready to wield it, there is no climax for the viewers because the story wasn't told well. I truly do not understand why people would say that they're excited for the next phase of the MCU. My personal favorite is Iron Man. The visuals and the sound was amazing; the dial up certainly brought back memories. That's not the best MCU, of course not but it's not bad at all, it really doesn't deserve any grade below 7! Looking forward to what is going to happen in End Game. Unfortunately the movie is not what I hoping for based on the other Marvel movies. What the hell is wrong with this cat?
