If, like me, your Insteon network is connected via the Hub, insteon login, you will have now realized that the Insteon servers have gone dark today April 14, and that the Hub now has a permanent red LED. Just creating an item does not mean it is available to all uses to interact with. Most OH setups will have dozens of items that are just for internal functions and not meant to be user controlled at all. OH does not have enough a prior information and will not make any assumptions about how you want to any particular item without a little more input from you.
