Hyllis

I wanted to make a tutorial in english, due to traffic from Apartment Therapy after this Ikea hack appeared there. What we really wanted was to make a sort of build-in industrial hyllis unit. A bit Pottery Barn-ish and maybe with a dash hyllis Restoration Hardware, hyllis.

Perfect for flower pots on a balcony, shampoos in a bathroom or exciting herbs in a kitchen. Sturdy, lightweight and approved for wet areas. Can such a large shelving unit really fit in a flat package? Can be used both indoors and outdoors, and is just as suitable on the balcony as in the kitchen, hallway or bathroom. If you want a larger storage solution, you can combine several shelving units from the same series.

Wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap, if necessary.

Cut each post in half to get two Install straight metal braces to the top and bottom posts to fix them together. Other than metal brackets, you can also use off-cuts from the posts for the height extension to join them together. Ucn shared this joining method over at Instructables.

Huge perfect boobs

We were hopeing to cut each one into two parts and use both, but since they are very inexpensive and we wanted it just right — four units was the only way to go…. Affordable, sturdy, easy Michelle Very affordable. Super cheap, industrial looking for sure, but not very sturdy…. I have been looking for something like this that was affordable. I was wondering what height you cut the uprights? Do you know what type of wood you used? This shelf must be fastened to the wall; the back panel has predrilled holes to make it easier. Is it the Nolhaga dark gray? I just bought the same one a few days ago!

Happy June friends! My laundry room is pretty darn tiny and I needed all of the extra space that I could get. My first thought was to build a wooden rolling cart from scratch but I was in the midst of a 6 week deadline to finish my entire room which included building a utility sink, laying floor and wall tile and much more.

Do you recall how many bottles of spray paint you used to spray the four units? How did you secure the top boards to the shelf? I am quite fit and sporty and I already owned a power drill. My husband anf I are NOT handy but it looks simple. How did you cut the metal legs down and what was the final height of the metal shelves after they were cut? This is beautiful! The included plastic feet protect the floor against scratching. Thanks for sharing! I looked at the original picture then yours and all I could awe was that you shortened the shelf. But arent there any predrilled holes? What is the total height of the unit?
