On my laptop there are touch buttons along the top of the keyboard. One of them is for the hp WIFI assistant. I would like to disable it if possible because it will randomly turn orange turning off WIFI and Bluetooth without me pressing it. I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to disable the wireless shortcut key on the keyboard. I am certain that my keyboard is different than yours, but I have to press the "fn" key at the bottom of the keyboard and the "F12" key at the same time. This will turn my wifi off and on. You may have to use a different key with the fn key. I would appreciate it if you would provide the full model of the computer. You can find it by opening HP Support Assistant.
